How to Heal in Morbid Metal

In most games, healing is straightforward and easy to access. However, in a roguelike like Morbid Metal, healing is intentionally limited, making survival much more challenging. Fortunately, there are still several ways to restore your HP during an iteration run.

How to Heal Your Character in Morbid Metal

During a run, your health does not regenerate naturally. You can only recover HP through specific mechanics, including:

  • Routine-based healing (including shields)
  • Vitality Fabricators
  • Healing nodes
  • Emporium healing

One of the most reliable methods is visiting the Emporium shop, which appears mid-run through a Void Rift. There, you can purchase a small heal. While the amount restored isn’t huge, it can make a significant difference in keeping your run alive.

Healing nodes are another option, though they appear randomly. You’ll often need to explore off the main path to find them. They are not very common, but even a small heal can be extremely valuable in a tough run.

Vitality Fabricators are even rarer but can become a key healing source over time. By purchasing the Run Fabricator Unlock in the Void Nexus, you can increase their spawn rate. Once upgraded sufficiently, they may become your primary way of healing during runs. Their biggest advantage is that you can use them multiple times—as long as you have enough credits—so it’s wise to save some currency for emergencies.

There are also smaller bonuses that can help with healing. For example, Corpora Herbal Tea restores a portion of your maximum HP when entering a shop. Increasing your maximum health pool is another indirect but effective way to improve survivability.

Beyond direct healing, reducing damage taken is just as important. Certain Routines can grant shields or barriers at the start of combat, giving you some protection against early mistakes. Others may provide shields when using special abilities. However, focusing too heavily on defensive Routines can reduce your overall damage output.

For the best results, you should aim for a balanced build—combining survivability with offensive power. Understanding your current run, adapting to available upgrades, and building good synergy between Routines will greatly improve your chances of staying alive.
