Digimon Story Time Stranger Save File Location on PC and How to Transfer Demo Saves

Digimon Story Time Stranger has officially launched on PC and consoles, marking one of the franchise’s biggest releases yet. On PC, the game has already become a best-seller, with over 57,000 concurrent players just half a day after its release.

If you’re looking for your save files, whether from the main game or the demo, here’s where you can find them.

If you’re unsure where the game is installed, follow these steps to locate it:

  1. Open Steam and right-click on Digimon Story Time Stranger.
  2. Select Manage, then Browse local files.
  3. Inside the game folder, open the gamedata folder, then savedata to access your saved content.

How to Transfer Demo Saves to the Main Game

If your progress from the demo isn’t automatically recognized in the main game, you have a few options:

Solution 1: Change Any Setting in the Demo

  1. Launch the Demo version.
  2. Change any settings from the title screen (graphics, sound, etc.) and save.
  3. Launch the full game and check if the progress has transferred.

Solution 2: Manually Move Save Files

  1. Copy the contents of the demo’s savedata folder:

  1. Paste them into the main game’s savedata folder:

This will move your progress over. Note that autosave data from the demo cannot be transferred.

If that still doesn’t work, try moving the Steam installation folder data:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[STEAM ID]\3815860
  1. Copy everything inside this folder and paste it here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[STEAM ID]\1984270

After this, your main game should recognize the demo progress.
