With Hades 2 officially launching on September 26, 2025, players can now unlock the true ending of the main story. Achieving it requires time, skill, and mastery of two new Incantations, alongside multiple challenging runs.
How to Unlock the Dissolution of Time and Achieve the True Ending

To reach the true ending, you first need to obtain the Dissolution of Time by defeating Chronos for the first time. This is only possible after updating your game to version 1.0 or higher, post-early access.
Once you have the recipe for the Incantation, head to the Incantation area (the large cauldron) and gather the required ingredients:
- Five Z-Sands – These drop from Chronos, so you’ll need to defeat him five times to collect enough.
- Entropy – An unknown material that may appear after completing certain runs.
The Entropy is unlocked by completing the Disintegration of Monstrosity and defeating Typhon. Finishing a Typhon run naturally unlocks the other Incantation needed for the true ending.
Step-by-Step Summary
- Defeat Chronos five times to collect five Z-Sands.
- Beat Typhon to acquire V-Lens.
- Complete Disintegration of Monstrosity and defeat Typhon again to obtain Entropy.
- Combine Z-Sands and Entropy to create the Dissolution of Time.
- Defeat Chronos using the Dissolution of Time to unlock the true ending.
This process is intentionally time-consuming, as players alternate between Chronos and Typhon runs. The story evolves depending on which Incantations you use, making each run meaningful without revealing spoilers.
