In Fortnite, many quests require tracking down and interacting with various characters across the island. One such character is Dummy, who has an important role this season.
Who is Dummy?
Dummy is a key quest NPC in Chapter 7, Season 1. He has appeared in Fortnite for a long time, but his role is especially important now: he’s working to repair the destroyed Battle Bus. If your quest requires meeting him, here’s where to find him.
Dummy’s Location in Chapter 7, Season 1
Dummy can be found at Ripped Tides, a main POI located in the southwest corner of the island, south of Humble Hills and north of Battlewood Boulevard.
Because it’s near the edge of the island, reaching Dummy can be challenging if you don’t land there at the start of the match. If you arrive late, consider using a vehicle to get there faster — vehicles spawn randomly, with higher chances near gas stations and parking lots.
Once at Ripped Tides, Dummy is usually found near the upper northeast corner, wandering around the parking lot close to the road and near the Battle Bus.
Talking to Dummy About the Battle Bus
To complete the “Talk to Dummy about the Battle Bus Destruction” quest:
- Locate Dummy at Ripped Tides.
- Interact with him and select the quest option “Ask about the Battle Bus”.
- Look for the diamond icon with an exclamation point to ensure you select the correct interaction.
After completing this quest, you can move on to other tasks, such as:
- Destroying dumpsters to collect custom Battle Bus pieces.
- Finding and using Unstable Element.
- Entering a Forsaken Rift Gate.
