Disney Dreamlight Valley keeps growing with new content rolling out every couple of months, and the latest update is bringing plenty of exciting additions. If you’re looking forward to the Return to Beast’s Castle update but aren’t sure what’s included, here’s a full breakdown of the early patch notes.
What’s Included in the Return to Beast’s Castle Update
New Characters
Two beloved characters from Beauty and the Beast are making their debut: Cogsworth, the loyal clock, and Lumiere, the charming candelabra. As you befriend them, you’ll unlock unique quests and rewards. From what’s been revealed so far, they’ll likely join Belle and the Beast rather than getting a brand-new house of their own.
Updated Realm
The Beauty and the Beast Realm, first introduced in the Enchanted Adventure update on September 13, 2023, is getting a refresh. Players will once again step inside the Beast’s castle to uncover new mysteries and challenges.
To access this realm, you’ll need 12,500 Dreamlight. Keep in mind that Lumiere and Cogsworth are locked behind Realm quests, which means you’ll need to unlock Belle and the Beast first.
New Quests
Along with the realm refresh come brand-new quests. These include:
- Realm-based missions tied to Beauty and the Beast.
- Friendship quests with Lumiere and Cogsworth.
- Special tasks available through the optional Once Upon a Dance Dream Bundle.
Premium Shop Additions
The Premium Shop is also expanding with new items. Highlights include:
- Witchy Kitty, the first cat to arrive in the Valley.
- Halloween Castle, the first Dream Castle skin.
- The Once Upon a Dance Dream Bundle, featuring ballroom outfits for Belle and the Beast, exclusive quests, and additional interactive content.
Witchful Thinking Star Path
The new Witchful Thinking Star Path is perfect for players with a magical flair. It offers themed furniture, costumes, and décor such as a witch outfit, a glowing purple cauldron, a spellbook glider, witch brooms, and an alchemy table.
Seasonal Events
- Trick or Treat Event: Returning October 15–31, this annual event scatters colorful candy buckets across the Plaza. Completing special Dreamlight Duties will reward you with Halloween-themed prizes.
- Haunting Floating Festivals: A brand-new event running from October 22 to November 11. A mysterious portal will open to a magical floating island filled with puzzles to solve and rewards to earn.
New Features & Quality-of-Life Updates
The update also brings several handy improvements:
- All tools now feature extra poses in Photo Mode, including two new Royal Phone poses.
- Night Thorns can be toggled off in photos, eliminating the need to remove them manually.
- The same toggle also applies to Inkies and Splinters of Fate, giving you more flexibility when setting up perfect shots.
Release Date
The Return to Beast’s Castle update launches on October 1, 2025, and will be available across all platforms the same day. For specific release times, check the official countdown.
