Obtaining the Special Battery during the final battle in Digimon Story: Time Stranger can be a bit confusing. You’re tasked with recovering it, but it’s not immediately clear where or how to get it.
Here’s a quick guide to help you locate the Special Battery so you can progress in the Final Battle: Over the Natural Order mission.
Where to Find the Special Battery

Even though it feels like The Final Battle: Over the Natural Order mission is almost finished, there are a few steps you need to complete before reaching the final battle.
After chasing Inori with Aegiomon, you’ll end up in a familiar location — the area where you previously fought Vulcanusmon. This area, called the Akashic Oblivion, has a floating gate you need to pass through, but first, you must obtain the Special Battery.
The gate appears suspended in the middle of nowhere, and it seems like there’s no other way forward. The key is to traverse the large open area while using your scanner (press L2, LT, or Q, depending on your platform).
Scanning the area reveals a platform layout. You can run across these platforms, which gradually disappear a few seconds after scanning. Don’t worry about falling — the platforms still exist but become transparent. You can rescan the area to maintain your bearings or move forward if you know the path.
Getting the Special Battery

While the scanning method helps you navigate the Akashic Oblivion, you still need to find the Special Battery itself. The only way to obtain it is by defeating Tsumemons scattered throughout the area. In my playthrough, the Special Battery dropped from a Tsumemon located on the southeast side when facing the gate or portal.
As you explore, you may also collect various materials. Use DigiAttacks to defeat Tsumemons safely and avoid falling. If you do fall, you will respawn at the start of the area.
Once you have the Special Battery, return to trigger a cutscene. You’ll face a boss before proceeding to Junomon’s gate, so it’s a good idea to level up and equip your team, as the final battle is approaching.
