The Frost Age season in Clash of Clans introduces another extended limited-time event called Meltdown Mayhem. Because this is a full-length event, it lasts for three weeks and also brings a brand-new piece of exclusive hero equipment into the game’s meta.
Meltdown Mayhem Event Overview
The Meltdown Mayhem event runs from December 8 to January 1, 2026. As with most seasonal events, players can earn a variety of rewards including consumables, upgrade materials for hero equipment, and the special event currency known as Ember Medals. The event also adds a festive twist by bringing back several winter-themed troops and spells:
- Santa’s Surprise
- Ice Hounds
- Ice Wizards
- Ice Minions
- Bag of Frostmites spell

Players can also spend their hard-earned Ember Medals on exclusive items in the event shop:
- Frost Flake – 3,100 Ember Medals
- Hungry Hound Decoration – 3,100 Ember Medals
- Frozen Stone Decoration – 1,025 Ember Medals
The Frost Flake is the standout reward—a powerful new hero equipment item for the Royal Champion. When equipped, it allows the Royal Champion to strike all nearby defenses at once and freeze them temporarily. This ability effectively turns her into a supportive hybrid hero, somewhat like the Minion Prince, as she disables defenses to help the attacking army push further.
Because of its strong utility and impact on the current meta, the Frost Flake is absolutely worth purchasing—especially for players working through new Town Hall 18 upgrades.
