How to Complete Open For Business
To complete the challenge, you need to correctly identify the ghost at Nell’s Diner three times. While the general objective is the same for all challenges, each comes with its own modifiers and requirements.
What Is the Open For Business Challenge?
The Open For Business challenge is designed to introduce players to the Nell’s Diner map. Unlike other challenges, this one emphasizes location rather than specific ghost types, equipment, or player changes.

The modifiers in this challenge aren’t overly difficult, especially if you’ve played other trials. However, knowing them beforehand helps, as they affect the entire contract:

Open For Business Challenge Equipment
Players are provided with all Tier III items, giving access to the best gear, which generally makes investigations easier. Some of the advanced equipment may require practice to use effectively:

Tips for Completing the Open For Business Challenge
- Learn the layout of Nell’s Diner first: Create a custom match with friendly ghosts to explore without fear of hunts.
- Play with friends: Multiple players make ghost hunts faster and allow more equipment to be used simultaneously.
- Use Night Vision Goggles: The Tier III Head Gear version helps you see without occupying an inventory slot.
- Play riskily: The challenge allows you to experiment, like using Tarot Cards, without penalty.
- Try Cursed Possessions: Random items spawn in each match—check all Nell’s Diner Cursed Possession locations. Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, and Haunted Mirror are particularly useful.
- Don’t give up: There’s no penalty for failure, making this challenge beginner-friendly. Keep trying until you succeed.
