Nioh 3 has officially launched on PC and PS5, and it didn’t take long for the game to make waves. Within just hours of release, it surpassed Nioh 2’s peak player count. The PC version, in particular, marks a noticeable improvement over Rise of the Ronin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, offering extensive options for tweaking and customization.
If you’re playing on PC and need to find your local progress data, here’s where Nioh 3 save files are stored.
Nioh 3 Save File Location
| Client | Save File Location |
|---|---|
| Steam | C:\Users\ALI\AppData\Local\KoeiTecmo\NIOH3\Savedata\[Steam Numeric ID] |
Unlike earlier KOEI TECMO titles that stored save data in the Windows Documents folder, Nioh 3 saves its files in the AppData directory instead.
Inside the Savedata folder, you’ll find another directory labeled with your unique Steam numeric ID. Within that folder are the individual save file folders tied to your characters and progress. For safety and convenience, it’s recommended to back up the entire NIOH3 folder, especially if you plan to move or restore your saves later.
You can also access the save location quickly by entering the following path into Windows Explorer or Run:
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/KoeiTecmo/NIOH3/Savedata
Does Nioh 3 Have Multiple Save Slots?
Yes. Like previous entries in the series, Nioh 3 supports multiple save slots, allowing you to create different characters with separate campaigns and progression.
Nioh 3 Steam Features
Nioh 3 includes Steam Cloud support, which lets you access your saved progress on another PC as long as you’re logged into the same Steam account.
In addition, the Steam version comes with several platform-specific features:
- Steam Family Sharing – Owners can share Nioh 3 with members of their Steam Family Library
- Steam Input – Although the game supports multiple controllers natively, Steam Input allows easy compatibility with third-party controllers
- Steam Leaderboards and Stats – Track performance and progression
- Steam Trading Cards – Earn card drops during gameplay that contribute to badges or can be sold on the Steam Marketplace
Nioh 3 is not Steam Deck Verified, and performance on the device is currently poor. If you’re planning to play on Steam Deck, it’s not recommended at this time.
