Scavenger hunt quests are common in Fortnite, and they can be some of the more challenging missions to complete. In Chapter 7, Season 1, one such quest asks you to destroy dumpsters to find and collect custom Battle Bus pieces.

To complete this quest, you need to locate and break three dumpsters around the island. Each dumpster you destroy will drop a Battle Bus piece that you can pick up, helping you progress in the mission.
You can break dumpsters using your pickaxe, a gun, or any other destructive tool. The pickaxe is usually the best choice, as dumpsters are easy to break and it saves your ammo.
While destroying dumpsters is simple, finding them can be tricky. The island is large, and dumpsters blend in with the environment. You also need to find three separate dumpsters, since each one only drops a single Battle Bus piece.
Dumpster Locations in Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 1
Dumpsters appear across most main POIs and Landmarks on the island, but some locations are better than others. The four best spots to find dumpsters are:
- Battlewood Boulevard – 14 dumpsters
- Ripped Tides – 5 dumpsters
- Sandy Strip – 4 dumpsters
- Painted Palms – 5 dumpsters
Battlewood Boulevard is the top location, offering the most dumpsters and plenty of opportunities to complete this quest. All four locations have more than enough dumpsters, so you can choose whichever works best for you.

- Classified Canyon
- Wonkeeland
- Artsy RVs (east of Classified Canyon)
- Fore Fields
- Fun Factory (north of Sus Studios)
- Sus Studios
- Bumpy Bay
- Toybox Docks (north of Tiptop Terrace)
- Gas station east of Wonkeeland, near the base of the snowy mountain
There are still plenty of other activities to complete on the island in Chapter 7, Season 1. After this quest, you might focus on meeting all NPCs, entering a Forsaken Vow Rift Gate, using Unstable Element, or earning Sidekick Points.
