How to Split and Merge Armies in Endless Legends 2

Splitting and merging your armies is a crucial tactic for securing easy victories in Endless Legends 2. Many players forget about this mechanic, especially if they skipped the tutorial.

How to Split, Merge, and Transfer Units

When you start producing units, they usually don’t all appear at once—unless you spend a lot of Dust to instantly recruit them. Often, your units will be scattered as they move to different areas, which can make you lose small battles. If your units get engaged by the enemy while spread out, you’ll be forced to fight with only a portion of your regiment.

To avoid this, it’s best to merge your units into a single controllable group. To transfer units, select the transfer button in the command panel when highlighting the unit you want to merge. Then, choose any number of units in the group. Each selected unit will be highlighted, and after confirming, you can pick a tile to transfer those units. Finally, select another unit group to merge with. You can have up to six units in one group.

If you want to split a unit group instead, use the same transfer method. Instead of selecting another unit group, choose an empty tile. The selected units will form a separate group and automatically move to the chosen tile.

Using this strategy allows you to maneuver effectively across the battlefield and gradually gain control of more territory. Managing your unit group composition is essential for victory, especially since heroes play a major role in battles.
