The Groundbreaking quest in ARC Raiders can be risky to complete. It requires a key for a locked room, which you will receive when you accept the quest. If you fail to complete the objective inside the locked room, you’ll have to find the key again. This makes it important to be fully prepared before starting. Here’s a full walkthrough to help you finish the Groundbreaking quest.
Groundbreaking Quest Walkthrough

To complete the Groundbreaking quest, you need to follow these objectives:
- Enter the locked room at Pilgrim’s Peak.
- Search the room for construction research.
- Identify the building shown on the whiteboard.
- Photograph the abandoned housing project.
Preparing for the Quest
Before starting a Blue Gate raid, get the Blue Gate Communication Tower Key, which you receive when accepting the Groundbreaking quest from Apollo (after completing the Deciphering the Data quest).
- Store the key in your safe pockets to avoid losing it before completing the objectives.
- It’s recommended to bring a Raider Hatch Key for an easy extract at the end of the quest, assuming Raider Hatches are available during the raid.
Entering Pilgrim’s Peak
Once you load into a Blue Gate raid, head straight to Pilgrim’s Peak.
- Use the staircase to enter the main building from the side.
- Go straight, then turn right into the long hallway.
- The locked room will be on your right.
Open the room and inspect the whiteboard in the corner to complete the objective. While you’re inside, loot the room, as locked rooms often contain great loot and blueprints.
- Look for a weapon box, drawers, breachable servers near the door, and loose items on tables.
Photographing the Abandoned Housing Project

After looting, head to the Abandoned Housing Project, located south of Pilgrim’s Peak near the edge of the map.
- The building you need to photograph is the third farthest building from Pilgrim’s Peak.
- Find a boulder overlooking the building—a “take a photo” icon will appear.
- Take the photo to complete the quest.
Since you likely have good loot by now, use the Raider Hatch Key on the Prefab Hatch next to the Abandoned Housing Project to exit safely and quickly.
